Election 2012

I voted, have you voted?

Go out and let your voice be heard. Even if you don't like either candidate, still vote. Write someone in. Educate yourself on ALL  running candidates and then make your decision. If you aren't part of the soultion, then you're part of the problem. In a time when there is so much hardship in this country, it's difficult to believe that our voice and vote actually matter. But as citizens, we owe it to our country to go out and civically engage.

I will admit that this is my first time voting. I will also admit that I just registered to vote this past August...and I'm 25. And did I mention that I received my degree in Political Science? It's never to late to register and vote.

If you're going to complain about who wins and how horrible the candidate's policies are, at least have the satisfaction of knowing that you went out and made a difference. Complainers never get anywhere far. I would know, I'm one of the biggest complainers around.

So get off your ass, head out to your precinct, and VOTE.

4 years ago, I was one of the many thousands that gathered in Grant Park to watch President Obama win the election. I was a senior in college and I felt so lucky that I was able to witness such a momentous event in history.

Obama is currently in the Chi and I'm hoping I'll be able to witness his re-election later tonight.

Again, to everyone, go vote!

Happy Election Day!
